Your journey by plane will culminate at Delhi’s International Airport. Transportation to your hotel is provided by a representative of our tour company. As you ride in the comfortable car through Delhi’s busy streets, you can enjoy the mix of historical and modern buildings including ancient monuments and towering skyscrapers. The hustle and bustle of everyday life here go on between these two worlds that combine both traditional and current ideas and culture every day. You will enjoy the sights of not only the unique architecture but also the tree-lined streets and frequent parks and gardens that create the feeling of an oasis inside this urban center.

During the day tour of Old & New Delhi, you will visit some of the best monuments like the Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb. You may also opt for the street food tour of Old Delhi.

If you have never been to the Taj Mahal, we also recommend you to take a day trip to Agra to visit the famous Taj Mahal and Red Fort. The journey on the Taj Expressway from New Delhi to Agra takes 3 hours.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before setting out for the New Delhi Railway Station. The train leaves the city at 13:15 and arrives at its destination at 18:00 in the evening. This is a super fast direct train with comfortable seating and air-conditioning to make your journey very relaxing and enjoyable.

You can see a wide variety of scenery as the train heads to Sawai Madhopur, from which access to the Ranthambhore National Park is quite convenient. A professional driver will pick you up from the station and drive for approximately 20 minutes until you reach your comfortable Ranthambhore hotel. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening gathering your strength for the adventure to come.

The National Park at Ranthambore used to be a hunting reserve many years ago. With conservation in mind for the modern age, it became part of Project Tiger in India. The accommodations where the tour group will stay inside the park puts you right in the middle of the natural landscape. The lodging is comfortable and clean and features attractive and relaxing gardens to enjoy and a swimming pool to cool down after a busy day. Evening entertainment includes roaring campfires, folk dances by locals, and entertaining and informative puppet shows that all ages can enjoy

Two days worth of wild safaris in the National Park gives you four opportunities to view the beautiful flora and diverse fauna of this part of India. In an open Jeep, you will have clear access to all of the views on every side. If any animals cross our path, you will be able to spot them easily and enjoy the wonder of this exciting adventure. One tour happens in the morning, and the next occurs in the late afternoon or evening when it begins to get cooler again. The middle of the day is the hottest in this area and is most suitable for a leisurely lunch and relaxation in the shade.

While the ultimate quest is for the elusive Bengal tiger, even if you do not spot one these days, there are plenty of other unique species to enjoy. Peek at the playful monkeys in the trees. Marvel at the sloth bear who was once Rudyard Kipling’s inspiration for Baloo. Look out for crocodiles on the edge of the waterways. You will also to see many species of birds including the purple heron, diving cormorants, colorful kingfishers, wild parakeets, partridges, and more.

After an early morning breakfast in the park, the India tiger tour leaves on a 5.5-hour journey to Gwalior. This historic city rests on the border between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. It may not be one of the more popular places that tourist groups visit, but it is certainly worth the trip. One of the major interest spots here is the ancient Gwalior Fort, which was built in the 700s and still stands today. Not only is its position on a hill overlooking the town quite impressive, but it also gives you a way to experience the iconic architecture used all those centuries ago. The Man Singh Palace includes towering spires ringed with turquoise tiles. Most of the buildings are fashioned from the sandstone that makes up the mountains here. It currently holds temples, palaces, large water tanks, and even a public school. On the approach to the Fort, look to the West to see massive Jain statues cut directly out of the mountain’s rock. They were originally created throughout the centuries from the 700s to the 1500s.

Gwalior City below the Fort is busy with modern life and plenty of opportunities to explore Indian culture and purchase kitschy souvenirs to remember your time here. The Jai Vilas Palace has distinct European styling. It was built by the maharajah Jayaji Rao Scindia in 1875. His intention was to show off how rich and powerful he was to the colonial ruler back in Buckingham Palace. The location also includes Greek ruins, Italian style houses, and French influence as well. One of the extremely unique features of this palace is a miniature train fashioned from silver that would run the length of the dining room table and bring drinks and cigars to guests.

After exploring the city, we will stay overnight at the former royal house Taj Usha Kiran Palace next door to the Jai Vilas Palace. This is just one example of the many palaces in India that have been turned into luxurious hotels.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a drive to Khajuraho. Instead of just seeing the landscape slide by outside the windows of the comfortable vehicles, this trip offers to stops along the route. First, we will stop at Datia Palace. This historical building offers a unique glimpse of architecture with both Indian and Islamic influences. The arches and unique window shapes suggest both Mughal and Rajput styles. Inside the palace, historical Bundela paintings line the walls. If you climb to the top, you can enjoy a fabulous view of the town surrounding it, and the vast collection of over 100 Jain temples in the area.

The journey continues until we stop again at the town of Orchha. Among the other historical sites along the Betwa River, you will have a chance to explore many where the Bundela kings once lived and worshiped. Many of the palaces and temples in this part of India have very old-fashioned Mughal styling. Of course, they were created in the 1500s and 1600s, so no modern appearances are to be expected. A view from the top of the Jahangir Mahal Palace will take your breath away.

Finally, we travel on and reach Khajuraho for a comfortable stay overnight.

Enjoy scenic safari adventures in the morning at Panna National Park. It was transformed from a royal hunting park to a preserve in 1981. In 1994, it became part of the collection of 22 different tiger reserves in India. In 2008, no tigers were found at all during the research census conducted by wildlife experts. In March of the next year, they began reintroducing these endangered big cats to the perfect location.

The transplants came from three other parks that will be visited on this wilderness tiger tour of India. As of 2017, more than 35 tigers roamed through the woods here. Now, there are even more. Not only could you find the elusive Bengal tiger here, but four other types of wild cats. All of them are visible at different spots along the safari path if we have a lucky day.

The landscape travels through teak forests and deciduous woods with heavy foliage that covers the majestic Vindhya Hills, plateaus and valleys. Other parts of the national park feature grasslands that provide food for many animals. The Ken River cascades into gorges and flows welcomingly through the trees to invite the wildlife to drink. It is India’s cleanest river, and it provides water and nourishment to all the 540 square kilometers of protected natural land here. This is surely one of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes within the country.

After the morning tour, the group returns to the Khajuraho hotel for breakfast.

The afternoon brings even more adventure. Our first stop will be a UNESCO world heritage site that encompasses both Western and Eastern temples including the well-known Kandariya Mahadev. Out of all the medieval style temples at this site, this one is considered the most highly decorated for those who follow the Hindu faith. What makes the ornate engravings and paintings so interesting is not only the sheer number – literally hundreds cover the surfaces — but that they also depict men and women in sexual situations. Another important Temple on-site was built in the 900s and is called the Chaunsath Yogini Temple, named for a respected female Hindu or Buddhist teacher. The purpose of this Temple was to honor the 64 yoginis of Kaali. The Chitragupta or Bharat Ji Temple features an image of Lord Vishnu with 11 heads, and the Vaaman Temple was built to honor Vishnu’s form as Lord Vamana.

The remainder of this day is spent driving to Bandhavgarh National Park, which will last about five hours on the road. You can relax and enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel and sleep comfortably overnight in preparation for the busy days ahead.

Although the Bandhavgarh National Park is only about 430 square kilometers in size, it has a wide variety of landscape styles and a historical fort perched on top of the cliff, which is the high point of the area. The wilderness safari will journey through birch tree forests, bamboo groves, and grasslands rich with diverse flora, birdlife, and animals. The wildlife tour group will take four different driving safaris over the course of these two days.

Some species you will see include the sambar, chital, and guar, large sloth bears, wild pigs, jungle cats, leopards, and tigers. This is one of the best opportunities to see the wild tiger on the tours, as they live here in high concentrations. According to the last census, there were nearly 70 tigers in this park. For those interested in birdwatching, you will have an opportunity to see many of the 150 different species, including the majestic Steepe Eagle

After early morning jeep Safari in Bandhavgarh, the five-hour journey from Bandhavgarh National Park to Kanha National Park will provide ample opportunity to sightsee along the way. We will take frequent stops to stretch your legs and look at some of the interesting scenery along the way.

The next two days also offer four opportunities to see the amazing plants and animals of the Kanha National Park, which is frequently considered one of India’s best preserves. It is much bigger than the other ones visited already at 1945 square kilometers. It features flat grasslands, high plateaus, rocky hillsides and cliff faces, and dense forests, too. Hundreds of different species of animals and birds live in this area. Unfortunately, poachers come here to illegally hunt some of them including wild tigers. However, it is still a lush and vibrant park full of amazing sights to enjoy.

This is the park that truly inspired The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. If you have ever read this classic piece of literature or seen one of the more realistic movies, you can imagine yourself there as we drive slowly through Kanha’s pathways. It still remains one of the most popular places to look for tigers in India. Noted zoologist George Shaller began his tiger research and conservation efforts here.

This day dawns bright and early with one last wildlife tour through Kanha before heading out from the road toward Pench National Park. This drive will also take approximately five hours with plenty of rest stops.

Pench is named for the river that provides life-giving water to the entire conservation area. While Kanha may appear to match the description of the jungle in Kipling’s book, this was actually the spot where British explorers came to visit most often. The landscape is dominated predominantly by teak forests. You will be glad to have along an experienced guide who knows just where to look to point out the elusive tigers and leopards prowling through the undergrowth. Pench also offers a host of birdlife including four vulture varieties on the endangered species list. While you may not spot them soaring overhead, you will undoubtedly get a glimpse of a whistling teal, wild peafowl, crimson-breasted barbet, and red jungle fowl.

After an early wildlife drive through this scenic National Park, another five hours on the Indian highways brings us to Todoba National Park. The rest of the day is spent in leisure and settling in to the accommodations for the night.

Many people who come to India for wildlife Tiger tours do not get to see the 625 square kilometer Todoba because it is a bit farther away than some of the other national parks. Like many other wild locations in this area, it contains mostly teak and bamboo forests and grasslands. They cover the rolling hills that lead down to the vast southwestern lake. These grasslands are the best place to catch a glimpse of a stalking tiger hunting its prey.

The tiger population in this park is quite healthy and growing every year. More than 90 individuals make their home here, with a dozen or more cups born every year. Besides tigers, however, will also have the opportunity to see leopards, sloth bears, hyenas, spotted cats, blue bulls, barking deer, flying squirrels, monitor lizards, pangolins, and an assortment of snakes and, birds, and unique insects.

Climb aboard comfortable vehicles again for a 2-hour drive to the nearby airport. A quick flight to Mumbai will bring us to our next destination and a comfortable hotel to relax and after a short sightseeing tour. More visits to important spots in the city occur after a delicious lunch. You can explore the Mahatma Gandhi Museum, the Towers of Silence, which served as open-air burial spots for Zoroastrians, and the vast outdoor laundry site called the Dhobi Ghats. A stop at the Prince of Wales Museum allows you to learn more about India’s history. Do not forget to stop at the 1911 to 1924 Gateway of India arch through which the British forces left after India won its independence. Round out the evening with a delicious dinner at a nearby café.

Your final day in India gives you more opportunities to explore the unique historical sites in Mumbai. Take a ferry boat to Elephant Island to see the man-made cave temples created over 1000 years ago to honor Shiva in his three main forms: creator, preserver, and destroyer. The hair-raising Trimurti statue is fashioned from volcanic rock and considered one of the greatest bas relief depictions in India. This trip is optional and, while quite intriguing, there are other choices you could explore.

The nearby Kanheri caves lie within the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. This is a great opportunity to get one more look at the beautiful Indian wilderness before returning home. The caves are exceptionally interesting because they were used by Buddhist monks in the early years of the last millennium. Marvel at the stone carvings, pillars, and shrines inside.

In the afternoon, consider seeing a different side of Indian life in Mumbai with a three-hour long tour of the Dharavi Slum. This tightly packed landscape of shacks and alleyways is one of the largest slums on earth. It was brought to popular attention in Slumdog Millionaire. You can learn a lot about the city and country from the knowledgeable guide who takes you to the most interesting and active parts of the slum. People here come from all over, live and work side-by-side, and have quite a bustling small business economy. You can find potters, bakers, embroidery experts, soap makers, tanners, and poppadom makers. In recent years, street art has become quite popular in Dharavi, so be sure to look out for intriguing murals and other designs painted on walls of the small homes. To honor the resident’s privacy and their multicultural beliefs, please wear modest clothing, closed shoes, and refrain from taking photographs on this tour.

Your wilderness adventure in India ends with transportation to the Mumbai International Airport to catch a flight back home with wonderful memories of tigers and many other amazing sights you experienced here.
