Subject: Thank you to your team for an amazing experience.
My name is David Neenan, I was the President of International for Transunion, joint venture partners with Cibil the credit reporting agency in India. In that capacity I visited India 20+ times, over 12 years enjoying many Oberoi properties in Mumbai, Jaipur, Wildflower in Shimla etc.
Having recently retired I wanted to take my wife for her first trip to India this January with instructions to the travel agent to place us in as many Oberoi properties as possible. We enjoyed many great experiences including
– 3 nights in Oberoi Delhi
– 2 nights in Oberoi Jaipur
– 2 nights in Oberoi Agra
– 2 nights in Oberoi Mumbai
Every experience was amazing and the staff could not have been more welcoming. We enjoyed receiving small gifts of appreciation from your staff in 3 locations
Highlights included
– Jaipur, a truly exceptional property that never disappoints, though this time I got to fly kites with the staff during the kite festival and explaining golf to my ‘caddy’ while trying out your golf course (I notice you like for hire people who are into sports, athletics and the discipline that comes with that)
– Agra a wonderful trainee chef, Anannya, gave a tour of the kitchen and prepared her family recipe of a desert she had created, and shared with us the following evening
– Mumbai, head chef Richard Maloney when out of his way to make our 2 nights and 4 meals memorable. I had a breakfast with our former Chairman of Cibil, Mr MV Nair, and on hearing he was from Kerala sent out some traditional Keralan breakfast items. On hearing we had a 5 am flight send box of croissants to our room at 3am.
Mr Oberoi, would be very proud of the staff. You have hired, trained and managed to delivery exceptional, friendly, human, memorable experiences to your guests. My wife and I, thank you and your staff, for making our stays at the Oberoi properties true highlights of our 3 week trip to India.
Kindest regards
David Neenan
Sri Lanka Tour - Ina and Markus Nieroda, Germany - Full of intense impressions, yet relaxing and restful!
Based on our very good experiences on a tour through Rajasthan, Varanasi, Goa, and Mumbai, we asked Vikas and his team at indienrundreisen.de (English www.VacationIndia.com) for a travel suggestion for our planned trip to Sri Lanka. As in India, we wanted a mix of getting to know people, culture, and sights, as well as nature and wildlife, as part of a customized tour, followed by a few days of beach relaxation. We wanted to stay in fairly upscale to luxurious accommodations or places that were “exciting” for other reasons. We had already researched a few places before sending our request.
Even the contact and support in the run-up to our trip went smoothly and was absolutely reliable, just as we had expected. Our wishes and preferences were always responded to in a very personal and individual manner, resulting in a tour that was tailor-made for us.
In 13 days, we traveled from Negombo via Wilpattu National Park to the ancient royal city of Anuradhapura with its impressive buildings. From there, we traveled through beautiful countryside to the world heritage sites of Dambulla and Minneriya National Park. With a stopover in the magnificently situated Kandy, we then continued uphill through the tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya, the roof of Sri Lanka. We enjoyed our days by the sea on the beautiful beach of Bentota and finally spent two days in vibrant Colombo.
The welcome at the airport was extremely warm and the beach hotel in Negombo was the perfect place to recover from the exhausting flight and enjoy the sunset with a refreshing drink. Our personal highlights of the tour were the individual safari through Wilpattu National Park. Even though we didn’t see any leopards, we were able to enjoy the wildlife and beautiful nature almost entirely on our own, without noisy jeep traffic jams, in what is by far the largest wildlife reserve on the island. The sweaty climb to Sigiriya Rock and the fascinatingly painted rock temple of Dambulla will also remain in our memories for a long time. The charm of the beautifully situated royal city of Kandy and the highlands of Nuwara Eliya, which are partly reminiscent of the Black Forest, were also magnificent.
The accommodations left nothing to be desired. We particularly enjoyed our stay at Arachchi Heritage, a beautiful architectural gem right on the lake in Anuradhapura. The staff there was also incredibly friendly and accommodating.
We simply had a wonderful, eventful, and yet relaxing time in this amazing country. This was ensured not only by the perfect organization, but also by our guide and driver, Dela. With his friendly and unobtrusive manner, he always had an eye for the remarkable things along the way and explained them knowledgeably and in very good English. Even when the program became too much for us or we had a special request, he always adapted flexibly to our needs and made everything possible. Perfect.
Wonderful Luxury India Trip with Stay in Oberoi Hotels
Hello Mr. Agarwal, we have arrived home safely and are dreaming and talking about India. You have given us such a wonderful time and we thank you very much for that.
Please share your English website with us so we can share it with our international friends here in NY.
Suresh is an excellent driver! Very careful and friendly. Always had chilled water for us. Was always in a good mood and occasionally gave us tips on other sights.
So, an absolute recommendation. He set the standard very high. The driver in Udaipur was our least favorite.
The St. Regis in Goa is very dated. There was construction everywhere. The renovation work is supposed to be completed by mid-November. We think that is quite ambitious.
The location (beach) is beautiful. The staff are very attentive.
Of course, we will write you a detailed review. However, that will have to wait a little longer.
We would like to send you our appreciation and thanks for a wonderfully planned trip
Dear Vikas
We would like to send you our appreciation and thanks for a wonderfully planned trip. The trip was all we could have hoped for, and more. The choices of sites and experiences were well beyond what we could have found ourselves. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable and just plain fun. We feel you provided a bit of local flavor that other tour companies could not!
Overall Nepal was a great experience.
Kathmandu is a bustling tourist and exciting city with many nooks and crannies to explore. We really enjoyed the hotel and the amenities it offered. We also enjoyed being able to walk to find great food and unique stores from the hotel. As a pedestrian, sharing the busy roads with motorcycles and cars could be intimidating. We were happy with the guides and drivers who were fun and courteous. The day of sightseeing was well worth while. We chose to spend more time to rest and visit the markets near the hotel on our final day.
We also very much enjoyed the day of sightseeing in Pokhara. The rode to and from Pokhara however made for a draining day. For a short like we took, flying would be a better option if possible. We really like the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel. It was a nice escape from big cities. The weather did not allow us to get a good view of the mountains, but we can imagine it to be pretty spectacular from the small parts that poked through.
Namaste

We just came back from one of our best vacations we ever had
Dear Vikas,
here I my efforts to write a review for our amazing trip. Not easy 🙂
We just came back from one of our best vacations we ever had – thanks to Vikas and his perfect organisation. It’s hard to summarize everything we saw, all the amazing palaces, forts and temples and the wonderful people we met along the way. So I will keep to the main things…
As mentioned before: the trip ( Rajasthan and Goa) was planned perfectly by Vikas Agarwal. He was very patient with my changes and re-changes, was always available ( I don’t know when this man ever sleeps) and supportive before, during and after our trip. I have never made this experience with a tour operator before! he monuments we saw where the highlights of Rajasthan. The sightseeing always started quite early ( 8.30-9.00) so we were always there before the crowds. Very nice. We even saw 2 tigers on our safari at Ranthambore Nationalpark!
I have to admit: First I was a little sceptical to book with an operator based in India but I shouldn’t have been. The payment was easy, because he also has a bank account in Belgium – so no extra charges. T
The guides: In every city we had a new guide. All of them were very experienced, polite and open to all our questions. Thanks to them we learned a lot not only about the history of the many different place, the culture or religions but about their daily life in India. I can recommend every one of them! Their English was also very good 🙂 They also like to show some typical handicraft on the tour ( carpets, drawings, diamonds) but you can always say No!
Driver and car: Gulab, our driver throughout the trip, was one of our highlights! He is such a sweet, polite and humorous man you just have to love! And, of course, an amazing driver in the chaotic traffic. We always felt super safe with him! On our long drives we talked a lot about almost everything: politics, religion, his daughters wedding 🙂 He went out of his way for us, was always there and only left when we had securely checked in our hotel. Gulab was like a guardian angel!!! He is very proud of his a car, a comfortable SUV. He washed it every day, it was more than clean – inside and out. He also gave us tips, where to eat or where to shop. We couldn’t have wished for a better driver and person. Thank you so much, Gulab.
The hotels: This I can make short – no complaints! They were all good or even excellent! You can trust Vikas on his choices. Or if you would like a different hotel, he will arrange it.
Summary: This is also easy. Next time – and there will be a next time after our wonderful experience – we will only book with Vikas !!!!!
